Marcus “Tanner” O’Leary, 25, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 10, 2021. He is now in his new body, happy and free. 

Tanner was a 2014 graduate of Marion County High School.

He is survived by his parents Mark and Misty O’Leary; sister, Erin O’Leary and finance’ Matthew Harveston;  grandparents, Dave and Jackie Daffron; grandmother, Ruth O’Leary (Leonard Wynne); aunts and uncles, Beth Webb,  Dan and Candy O’Leary,  Dean and Sheila O’Leary,  cousins Ashley and Aaron Thomas,  Ryan O’Leary,  Rachel and Jake Raplee, Loranda Lyons and his precious cousin Trent Thomas.  He had many special friends including Best Friend Kevin Crowley, who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William A. O’Leary, great grandparents; G.H. and Winnie Bennett, David and Jane Daffron, uncles Jim Webb and Allen O’Leary.

Tanner loved being with his friends, cooking out, and playing golf.  He could cook the best steak and asparagus you’ve ever eaten!  He loved college basketball season, especially his Tennessee Vols.  He took great pleasure in helping people, especially those who were struggling and needed a friend.  His heart was so big. He adored and protected his little sister always. But most of all he loved his family and his dogs, Callie, Molly and Josie, who will love and miss him every day until we meet again in heaven.

Pallbearers are Kevin Crowley, Tristan Smith, Matt Harveston, Jordan Overstreet, Chase Reeves, and Montana Findley.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. (CST) in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home of South Pittsburg with Pastor Joey Manis and Brad Bridgman officiating.

Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper, Tn.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 15, from 5-7 p.m.(CST) and on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (CST) prior to the funeral services in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home.

The family request mask to be worn for visitation and funeral services.

Donations may be made to Richard Hardy Memorial School or the Chattanooga Humane Society.
