Ramona F. Hyberger
Ramona F. Hyberger left the worries of this world to the sound of hymn singing on Sunday, October 10, 2021.
She was born into the North Cleveland Church of God on Aug. 10, 1935.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, John D. and Margaret Latimer Hyberger; her grandparents, Franklin J. and Della Ottinger Hyberger and the Reverend S. W. and Margaret Wright Latimer; as well as her brothers, Samuel W. Hyberger, Sr. and Hoyle D. Hyberger.
She is survived by her niece, Kristine Torrance (David) of Norris, TN; and her nephews, Samuel W. Hyberger, Jr. (Carol) of Cleveland and Brett Hyberger (Amanda) of Ooltewah. Additional survivors include great-nieces and nephews, Jessica Torrance Goans, Aaron Hyberger, Andrew Hyberger, Samuel W. Hyberger III, and Emily Hyberger; as well as dear friends, Clemmie Freeman and Sharon Jenkins.
Ramona was a life-long resident of Cleveland, who earned a Bachelors Degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College. After college, she began a 38 year career as an elementary school teacher. She spent most of her career in the Cleveland City Schools at the George R. Stuart Elementary School. She enjoyed working with children and spent many years as a preschool Sunday School teacher at North Cleveland Church of God. Ramona’s faith was the central focus of her life, and she worked diligently to put her beliefs into practice.
Her travels to Germany, the Holy Lands, and other European countries were another highlight in Ramona’s life. She also enjoyed keeping up with friends and family, and maintained a youthful joy in celebrating Christmas throughout her life.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 2:30 p.m. at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Tuesday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.
