Rex Alan Coward, 56, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and played drums in the church band. Rex was a very talented musician, he loved playing the guitar and was in several bands over the years. He was a wonderful husband and father and loved his family more than anything.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, Sammy and Carolyn Coward; brother, Michael Wayne Coward; grandparents, Chet and Mildred; and several musician friends.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Glenda Coward; children, Connie Skinner, Carol Zurick, Jerry Hendryx, Noah Wayne Coward and RhyLeigh Sue Coward; grandchildren, Johnathan (Melinda) Blankenship, Joe (Elizabeth) Hill, their children, Luna Elizabeth Hill and Gavin Woolsey, and Eddie (Jade) Hill, their children, Sonny, Myles, Eli and Asher Hill; great-granddaughter, Gabriela Blankenship; siblings, Sam Coward and Carolyn Weeks; godchildren, Zack Blazio and Danielle Rose; aunt, Loraine; sister-in-law, Sue Vasquez; cousin, Teresa; and many friends.
Family will meet with friends at Zion Hill Baptist Church on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m., with Pastor Justin Brown officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
