Melba Jean Wallin, 83, of Chattanooga, died on October 16, 2021, with her children by her side.

A longtime resident of Chattanooga, Mrs. Wallin was formerly employed with McKee Foods.

A daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, no matter who she was to you one thing remained constant; her heart.  She loved people the way Jesus intends for us to love.  She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, “dancing on tables”, planning elaborate Christmases and going for rides.

Her pride and joy was her loving husband, Robert Wallin, Sr. (Bob) who she spent the majority of her life adoring.  She will be greatly missed, but her family is rejoicing knowing that she is reunited with our Heavenly Father and the love of her life.

She was a member of  Standifer Gap Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman L. and Mildred Owen;  her husband of 64 years, Robert L. Wallin, Sr;  daughter, Pam Wilson; granddaughter, Misty Wilson; great-grandson, Jacob Tallant; and sister, Julie Hines.

She is survived by her daughters, Robin (Ray) Curvin, Ringgold,  Shanda (Jeff) Lusich, Elk Grove, CA; son, Bobby (Cindy) Wallin, Ringgold; sisters, Peggy Smith, Cleveland, Beverly (Jerry) Baugh, Huntland, TN, and Vickie Brennan, Elk Grove, CA; brothers, Herman L. (Odessa) Owen, Jr., and Stanley Owen, both of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren, Jimmy (April) Wilson, Angel Wilson (George Morgan), Courtney Curvin (Greg Sisco), Ray Glenn Curvin, Christopher Lusich, Mackenzie Lusich, Jennifer (Dustin) Dickson, and Morgan (Johnny) Petty; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. at Standifer Gap Seventh-day Adventist Church with E.W. Dempsey and Pastor David Sitler officiating. Burial will follow at the Standifer Gap Cemetery with Bobby Wallin,  Jeff Lusich, Christopher Lusich, Dustin Dickson, Greg Sisco, Johnny Petty, Jimmy Wilson, and Tim Gray serving as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Wallin’s personal caregivers for all of their love and compassionate care.
