Edward Kent Alvey, 64, of Sale Creek and formerly of Dayton, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Erlanger East Medical Center.

He was born in Georgia on Dec. 17, 1956, the son of the late Robert Eugene Alvey, Sr. and Mary Rose (Cranfill) Alvey. 

He was a graduate of Rhea Central High School class of 1974 and earned his associate degree at Chattanooga State. Ed retired from IAC in Dayton and enjoyed sports cars and mowing his lawn with his tractor. 

He is survived by his wife Deena (McEwen) Alvey of Sale Creek, daughter, Jennifer Guinn of Sale Creek, two granddaughters, Taylor Knight and Emily Guinn. He is also survived by his three brothers, Robert (Tammy) Alvey, Jr. of Evensville, Randy Alvey of Dayton and Glenn (Shirley) Alvey of Old Washington along with his special niece Chrystal Steele of Sale Creek. 

Funeral services for Ed will be held on Monday, Oct. 24, at noon with Rev. John Fields officiating. He will be laid to rest near his family in Buttram Cemetery in Dayton.
