Betty Zee Harden

Betty Zee Harden went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 22, 2021. She was 82 years young and was born in Milner, Georgia on April 6, 1939.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Harden; father, Isom Pratt; mother, Clora Humble Pratt; and brothers, Jerry and Mack Pratt.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Caroline Harden; son, Clay Harden; brother, Frankie Pratt; sister, Nancy Crider; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Betty was a beautiful soul who touched many lives with her vast array of talents, abilities and loving disposition. As a young woman she learned stenography at Berry College, which she used in her early years of employment. She was involved in the restaurant business, held jobs with the U.S. and local government, and insurance sales just to name a few.  She loved making crafts and was an expert cook. Since the 1980's she was involved in the Prater's Mill Fair.  Betty and her mother, Clora, opened the Chicken n Dumpling booth, which still operates at the annual event.

Being an accomplished seamstress, she ran a successful dress making shop along with her mother.  Many recall that their first dress or suit was made by Betty Zee! She will be remembered for her love of helping people, but it was her family and friends that she held closest to her heart. She was especially proud of her children. Perhaps her greatest life's work was being the caretaker of her daughter who has spina bifida. For 54 years she has poured her life into loving and caring for Caroline. She is an irreplaceable and endearing soul that will never be forgotten by those whose life she has touched.

Her viewing will be Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Love Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m.

Her funeral service will be Wednesday, Oct. 27, in the Love Funeral Home chapel. The service will begin at 2 p.m. with Lonnie Starnes and Brent Sowder officiating.
