Doris Massey
Doris A. Massey, 87, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at the family residence.
Doris was the daughter of the late Vestal Turner Dodson and Ned Dodson. Her sister, Betty Sue Hunt; brother-in-law, Charles "Chug" Hunt; and her best friend, Jaylene Ingle, also preceded her in death.
Doris was a familiar friendly face for 20 years at the Y.M.C.A., working at both the old location and the new Y.M.C.A. location here in Cleveland. After retirement she enjoyed babysitting. She also enjoyed traveling and working outdoors in her flower garden. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking for them at Thanksgiving and Christmas! Doris was a longtime member of the North Cleveland Church of God.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Chapman (Jerry), Cleveland; son, Don Massey, Cleveland; special friends, Dorothy and Mike Beavers and their tripletts who she enjoyed babysitting for years, Sarah Hodge (Spencer), Emma Beavers and Lauren Beavers.
The Remembrance of Life Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Pastor Rhonda Davis and Pastor Todd Haggard officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Friday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
