Her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, welcomed Charlotte Thomas Bailey into His loving arms on October 24, 2021. She gave her life to Jesus at the age of 13 and never felt accustomed to this old world. As she said, she was “just passing through.”
She was a member of Peerless Road Ministries for many years and most recently at North Cleveland Church of God.
She was born in the Blue Ridge and Copper Basin area and was preceded in death by her parents, Howard M. Thomas and Eulah German Thomas; brother, Leland Thomas; and sister, JoAnne Chapman.
She attended Cleveland State and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Her career was mainly in finance. She served as assistant to the credit manager at Maytag Whirlpool, and as office operations manager at Raymond James Investment Services (Thomas Partners) for many years.
She loved cooking and entertaining for her family and friends. She also spent many hours counseling with people on the phone as an encourager and prayer warrior, letting them know that no matter what they were going through, they could be an overcomer by focusing on Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Franc Bailey; son, Jeff Bailey (Angela); son, Phillip Bailey (Sandy); daughter, Brigitte Eisele (John); four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at noon and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 30, with Pastor Ruthie Souders of North Cleveland Church of God officiating.
