Through its partnership with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, ArtsBuild will bring Hamilton County educators and Youth Development professionals a free (virtual) arts integrated teaching workshop series during the month of November with Kennedy Center teaching artist Lenore Blank Kelner.
Participants of this arts integrated teaching training will meet virtually from 4-6 p.m. on Nov. 2, 16, and 30. Each live session will be recorded and teachers who are unable to attend the live session will have access to the recording for 24 hours. (Teachers must complete all three sessions to receive credit for the training.)
Through this course, participants will learn several simple drama strategies that can motivate the English Language Learner to listen, speak, read, comprehend, and write a new language. These same techniques work well with native English language speakers. The techniques enhance comprehension, boost self-esteem, and motivate writing for all students.
All Hamilton County K-12 educators are invited to register and attend. For the course description and Lenore’s bio, please contact Amy Lowdermilk, Program Manager, at amy@artsbuild.com or 803-4784. Click this link to register for the workshop series. Registration ends on Friday, Oct. 29, at 4 p.m.
