Penny Ann Reames Ball, 62, of Cleveland, passed away at home from heart complications on November 26, 2021.
Penny was born March 12, 1959 in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth and her father, Harold Westbrook.
During her younger years, she and her parents moved to North Carolina and then on to Baltimore.
Penny graduated from Kenwood High School and accepted a job at Blue Cross & Blue Shield, where she worked for many years. She then worked for a couple of doctor’s offices in Harford County. She enjoyed going around to different churches and singing songs for Jesus.
In the Wilna SDA church is where she met and married her husband, Jeff, on May 15, 1988. On Dec. 31, 1989, they were blessed with their first child, Brigetta Ann, and on June 10, 1993, they were blessed with their second daughter, Noella Ann. They lived in Maryland for 21 years, then in West Virginia for 11 years and have been in Tennessee for almost 10 years.
She enjoyed caring for several elderly couples she met along the way and spent seven years working at the Village Market.
She loved to spend time raising flowers, gardening and just being outside when it was warm. She also enjoyed canning and caring for the chickens, the dogs and the cat. She enjoyed working with crafts, decorating for the holidays and playing her guitar.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Ball; daughters, Brigetta and Noella Ball; cousins, Mary Malisa Gilbreath and Eletha Peace Gilbreath; stepsister, Patsy Stanley; father- and mother-in-law, Dallas and Barbara Ball; sister-in-law, Debra Hann; as well as several extended family and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life and Homegoing for Marilyn Ann Reames Ball “Penny” will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2 from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home, with Pastor Fred Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
