William Freeman Collins, 80, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, peacefully at his home in Rocky Face, Georgia.

He was born on Aug. 26, 1941, in Rocky Face, Georgia to the late Fred John Collins and Billie Freeman Collins.

Freeman was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenda Collins; son, Anthony Wayne “Tony” Collins; and sister, Freda Collins Lassiter.

He attended West Side High School. Freeman was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was a life-long member of the Westside community with many friends in the area.

Freeman owned and operated Freeman Springs Farm, one of the oldest, continuously family owned farms in the state of Georgia, having been in the Freeman family since 1829. He had a vast knowledge of farming and a great love and respect for the land. He was also an avid hunter and Harley Davidson motorcycle rider.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen Collins of the residence; daughter-in-law, Pat Collins of Rocky Face; step-son and wife, Steven Cody and Liana Etling of Chattanooga; grandson and wife, Joshua Freeman and Priscilla Collins of Rocky Face; granddaughter and husband, Candi and Kerns Chandler of Rocky Face; great–grandchildren, Cameron and Carter Collins, Colt and Paisley Chandler, all of Rocky Face; sister, Glenda Collins Black of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Rhonda McArthur, Vicki McCarthy, Anthony Rogers of Hahira, Ga.; sisters-in-law and spouses, Susan and Lamar Dixon, Kim and Ken Brummitt, both of Dalton; and nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. in the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Tac Coley and Rev. Chuck Harmon officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Burial will be in the Dunagan Cemetery.
