McKamey Animal Center is asking pet lovers in Chattanooga and beyond, to consider their two longest residents this year when mailing out holiday cards to friends and family, in an effort to help them find new homes for the holidays.

In a social media post shared early Friday morning, MAC said this was a holiday wish for Jane and Crest, the shelter’s longest residents. “Crest and Jane are our two longest residents at MAC. As of today, Crest has been here 337 days, and Jane 301 days. They both are great dogs who have been overlooked for far too long. This year for the holiday season we are asking folks from the Chattanooga area and beyond for holiday cards to decorate their kennels, and maybe in doing so we will find them both their furrrever homes.”

Holiday cards can be mailed to: McKamey Animal Center, ATTN: Jane or Crest, 4500 N. Access Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37405.

Crest is an 8-year-old mixed breed dog who is losing his sight – he likes to use his mouth to feel, which can be scary for some. He is what the shelter calls a true ‘couch potato’ and would love a home to lounge around in. Jane is 3 years old and a staff favorite. She loves to run around and play, while showing off her zoomies! She likes all of the attention to be on her, so she should be the only dog in her home.

Both animals are included in part of MAC’s current December adoption special. All month long, participants can pick an ornament from the special holiday tree for a chance to have a reduced adoption fee, exclusive discounts, and free pet items. Participants may even find the lucky ornament that has a fee-waived adoption on it. Both animals are also available for MAC’s upcoming Santa Paws Delivery special.

To learn more about these two dogs, or any animal available for adoption at McKamey Animal Center, visit www.mckameyanimalcenter.org or call 305-6514.

MAC adopters are no longer required to make an appointment to come meet adoptable animals, but those wishing to make an appointment or get more information should visit the MAC website at www.mckameyanimalcenter.org/adoption or call the adoptions team at 305-6514. Anyone entering the shelter must wear a mask due to continued COVID-19 restrictions.
