Laura D'Arcangelo Norman

Laura D'Arcangelo Norman passed away at the age of 36 in New Orleans, Louisiana, on December 25, 2021.

Laura will be lovingly remembered by her husband of nine years, Patrick David Norman, her mother, Patricia Pareti D'Arcangelo of New Orleans, her brother, Frank Patrick D'Arcangelo of New Orleans, her godmother, Carolyn P. Ybos of Picayune, Ms. and her many aunts, uncles and cousins. Also left to cherish her memory are her parents-in-law, Patrick J. and Kay S. Norman of West Monroe, La., her sisters-in-law, Jill Norman (Jason) LeBlanc of Lafayette, La., and Beth Norman (Kevin) Hudson of West Monroe, La., her nephews, Garrett Hudson and Wilson Hudson and her niece, Lila LeBlanc. Laura will also be dearly missed by her beloved dog Chickadee and cat Howard.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Bernard D'Arcangelo, her grandparents, Santo A. and Antionette M. D'Arcangelo and Pascal P. and Jeannette C. Pareti, Jr. and her godfather, Leonard V. Lassalle, Jr., all of New Orleans.

Laura was a native of New Orleans and grew up in the heart of Lakeview. She attended Hynes Elementary, St. Dominic School, Mount Carmel Academy and the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. She was later educated at Tulane University and received her B.S. in Business Administration from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, LA. After graduation, Laura applied her eye for detail and love of the hospitality industry toward her accounting work at hotels in the tourism hubs of Honolulu, Hi., New Orleans, La., and most recently Chattanooga.

Laura brought an artistic spirit and a clever wit to everything she pursued and her ever impressive creative talents showed in so many ways throughout her life: as a theatre actress, an acapella singer, a jewelry artist, a painter, a comic strip artist, an interior designer and a maker of all things crafty. She was a compulsive thrift store shopper, and her one-of-a-kind style and humor were evident in her many unique collections, from vintage brass curios to random shopping lists that she found abandoned in grocery carts. Laura’s creativity, skills and style were always on display in her booth at craft shows and in her successful online shops for vintage goods and handmade jewelry.

She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, friend and so much more to so many. Laura, we will miss your bright smile, your beautiful voice and your warm heart. You added more than you could ever know to the lives of those around you and we take comfort in knowing that you are now at peace.

The family wishes to thank the staff and affiliates of Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, and the staff at Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson, La. for their care and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 12:15 p.m. in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, La. 70119.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. A private interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Laura’s name to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Despite the many difficulties that she faced throughout her cancer journey, Laura’s heart hurt even more when she encountered children along the way who faced those same challenges.
