The Salvation Army’s Chattanooga Area Command received a donation of 1,000 “blessing buckets” from God’s Pit Crew, a nonprofit that facilitates disaster relief across the nation. Each five-gallon bucket is filled with water bottles, food, hygiene items, medical supplies and a Bible.

Salvation Army staff and volunteers are distributing these supplies on a first-come, first-served basis to anyone who stops by their warehouse, 5000 Calhoun Ave. in Chattanooga on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Additionally, personnel representing the organization’s 2-Generation Tennessee Home/Pathway of Hope program will be present to discuss life-coaching and other opportunities related to poverty alleviation and the journey towards self-sufficiency.
