Every player on the Lee men's basketball team put in work on Friday night as the No. 24 Flames fired past the Auburn Montgomery Warhawks by 31 points, 83-52 from Walker Arena.

The Flames shot a sizzling 50 percent from the field and went 15-16 from the foul line, securing the first win of the final two-game series of the regular season.

Quay Kennedy led the team with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Beyuan Hendricks and Noah Boler added 13 and 12 points respectively. Jayce Willingham and Jalen Page grabbed six boards each, and Jason Landman rounded out a lock down defensive effort with three blocks.

After an initial basket by AUM, Hendricks scored the first of 10 three-pointers, giving the Flames a lead that they would keep safely the rest of the game.
In the first half Lee held the Warhawks to just a 22 percent shooting and only 13 points to hold a 32-13 advantage going into halftime.

"Our guys did a really good job squeezing their shooters," said Lee head coach Bubba Smith. "I thought we also did a really good job of helping a teammate early. We were able to help, recover, and rotate down, so we were able to get some steals. So defensively, it set the tone for our night and really carried over to the second half for sure."

After finishing the first half with a three-point buzzer beater by Makhi McGuire, the Flames continued to shut the Warhawks down in the second, shooting 56.7 percent from the field. Every player saw action, and 10 out of the 12 put points on the board. The Flames ended the game with a bang riding a 16-point scoring run.

"This team has a lot of youth mixed in, so there's a lot of potential for growth," noted Smith. "It's nice to see Noah growing and getting better, and Jalen. And so our bench is really contributing, like Makhi and all those guys, especially with Mike being out tonight. They're improving, and because of that our team is getting better."

AUM was led by the effort of Maharrith Jackson, who scored 16 points, the only Warhawk with double figures. Jackson also led the visitors in rebounds, grabbing eight. Roderick Smith added seven points and Stanley Davis hit a pair of triples to account for his six points.

With the win the Flames improve to 12-4 on the year and drop the Warhawks to 3-13.

The Flames will look to continue the fun tomorrow at 2 p.m. as they run it back with AUM in their last regular season game of the season. With tonight's victory, the Flames secured the No. 2 seed in the GSC East and will host a home playoff game on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
