George M. Chappell, Sr.
George M. Chappell, Sr., age 69, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at his home in Benton, Tennessee.
George was a licensed minister in the Baptist faith. He was a fisherman and a fisher of men, loved to read and study Hebrew and he served in the U.S Army and has received many outstanding honors.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Odom Chappell; children, Jennifer and Will Crawford, Chris and Lori Chappell (Florida), George Chappell Jr. and Kayla Chappell (Cleveland), Kathy and Don Stewart, Jay and Beth Morgan (Benton), Trish Epperson-Gregory (Athens), Donna Perry (Cleveland); 60 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Sunday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Johnny Smith and Rev. Bill Odom officiating. The interment will follow at the Veterans Section of Fort Hill Cemetery with Military honors.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 28, from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
