Cleveland State volleyball hosted region foe Walters State at home on Tuesday evening and fell to the red hot Lady Senators 3-1.
Despite the defeat, head coach Alizabeth Atnip was pleased with her team in the match.
“I am happy with the effort by the whole team tonight,” Atnip said. “The first set was neck-and-neck
the whole way. The second set we let them get a large lead and just couldn’t come back, but the
third set everything just clicked for us and the team realized what they are capable of. We just
have to figure out how to carry momentum.”
Madeline Dasher led the way in the match with eight kills with teammate Loryn Wilson following
closely behind with seven. Both Dasher and Megan Lee had multiple service aces with two and
three, respectively.
The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Thursday as they face Chattanooga State at home.
Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.
