Rescues On The Runway Set For June 26

  • Wednesday, March 3, 2021

The Humane Educational Society announces their annual Rescues on the Runway extravaganza will be held on Saturday, June 26 at 6 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

For the safety and comfort of supporters, fewer tickets will be available this year with tables spaced 10 feet apart.

"With the changing situation, we will follow Hamilton County Health Department recommendations for COVID safety protocol," organizers said. "For those who want to support the shelter from home, a limited number of virtual tickets will be available and include a to-go meal to enjoy with the show.

"During cocktail hour you will have the opportunity to meet adoptable puppies, kittens, dogs and cats helped by your donations. Sip on complimentary beer, wine and cocktails, while sampling hors d’oeuvres of herbed cheese and sun-dried tomato tartlets, fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil brochettes and vegetarian spring rolls.

Guests will then enjoy a three-course meal of salad, chicken chasseur served with a tarragon demi glaze, fingerling potatoes and chefs seasonal vegetables (or enjoy a vegetarian/vegan or gluten free option). Dessert will feature a decadent chocolate torte or New York style cheesecake

"Dinner will be followed by Chattanooga’s most unique runway show, featuring touching stories of former shelter pets who have found their forever homes, as well as some great companions who are available for adoption. This is our animal's chance to shine and they love strutting their stuff on the runway.

"After the show, bid on fantastic live-auction items to make a difference for homeless animals in our community.

"Whether you attend in person or virtually you will find items you love in our online auction. Every item you win makes a difference for the animals who need it most."
