Chattanooga State Takes Doubleheader Wins At Cleveland State

Chattanooga State softball won a pair of games over Cleveland State on the road on Saturday.

In the first game, the Tigers win 11-3 in five innings. Makala Strickland drove in all three of the Cleveland State runs in the fourth-inning via a home run. Anna Yell, Kaylee Hughes, and Shayla Phillips also recorded a hit in the contest.

In the second game, Cleveland State fell 8-4. The Lady Cougars were able to battle back to tie the game at 4-4 in the fourth inning of play, but were unable to overcome another Lady Tiger offensive surge. Amber Atkins and Yell recorded two hits in the game, while Katie Davis drove in two runs and Katie Dinger drove in one.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Sunday as they travel to NCAA Division III opponent Maryville College in Maryville, Tn. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
