U.S. Air Force Veteran Held Long Career With Astec Industries

Edwin Duane Edgington, 74, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2021.

 

Born in Gary, In., Mr. Edgington has been a resident of Chattanooga since 1979.

 

He was retired from Astec Industries after some 30 years of service and was a veteran of the US Air Force.

 

He was a dedicated member at Hickory Valley Baptist Church and accepted the Lord in 1995.

 

Mr. Edgington was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, loved history, sharing stories and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

 

He is survived by his wife of  53 years, Alice Edgington;  daughter, Esther (Jeff) Brown,

Hammond, IN;  son, Edward Arthur (Danielle) Edgington, Binghampton, NY;  sister, Linda Vanduyn; brother, Dennis (Jan) Edgington both of Danville, IN; 5 grandchildren, Larry (Patricia) Brown, Jacob Edgington, Alice Edgington, Elijah Edgington, and Annabell Edgington;  4 great-grandchildren, Janiyah, Jayden, and Jaxon Mason and Joelle Brown; sister in law, Linda Cappas, Crown Point, IN; nieces and nephews, Troy, Nicholas, Danielle, Emma, Grace and several other nieces and nephews.,

 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 13, at 11:30 a.m. at Hickory Valley Baptist Church with Reverend David Kemp officiating. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10-11:30 a.m. at Hickory Valley Baptist Church, 2320 Hickory Valley Road.

 

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
