Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga. showed his muscle Friday night at the new I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater as the Spring National series headlined the night of racing action on the newly configured clay oval between Knoxville and Chattanooga.

Dale McDowell of Chickamauga set fast time of the 32 entrants, but it was "Big Sexy" racing his #76 Wells Motorsports "Overton Crossfit, All-Star Concrete, EZ-GO, Big Dog Stump & Tree" spot Longhorn/Clements powered machine from 10th to the lead, before halfway in the 53 lap feature.

McDowell attempted to thwart Overton's advance on the 23rd circuit, but it was too little too late. The new leader stretched his advantage to over a straightaway lead as McDowell contended with Michael Page of Douglasville. The three Georgians raced under the checkers with Overton winning the $5,053 payday.

Page got by McDowell for second while local racer Cory Hedgecock would finish fourth ahead of Kingston, Ga.'s Tyler Millwood. Cleveland's John Ownbey would finish just outside the top five in sixth overall.

Most competitors will head to Maryville's Smoky Mountain Speedway Saturday for the Southern All-Star Super Late Model event. Those unable to make the shows can watch live Saturday night or on replay anytime on Floracing.com with a subscription.
