Jerry Dagnan, loving husband and father of two children, went home to be with Lord on Friday, April 16, 2021.

Jerry was born on February 27, 1952, in Chattanooga, to Carlos and Margaret Dagnan. He graduated from Kirkland Technical High School in 1970. He worked for the Hamilton County Police Department as a police officer before pursuing a career as an electrician. He worked for I.B.E.W. Local Union 175 as an electrician for 47 years. On September 18, 1982, he married Willene Douglas. Together they raised one daughter, Danielle, and one son, Curtis, and truly built a life they loved. He was a devout Christian and most recently loved attending church at Ooltewah Church of Christ.

Jerry loved nothing more than being with his two granddaughters, Emma and Brooklyn. From taking them to the park, buying them overly large stuffed animals, riding them on his tractor, and spoiling them with anything they asked for, Jerry strived to be the best “poppy” he could be. In addition to cherishing time spent with his family, he loved Tennessee Volunteers football and his Collie dog, Lady. He was known for his sense of humor, infectious smile, and kind and compassionate spirit. He was a devoted husband, father, and poppy, and he will be greatly missed.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Carlos, and his mother, Margaret. Survivors include his wife, Willene Dagnan; one daughter, Danielle Eaker (Michael) of Ringgold; one son, Curtis Dagnan (Kristin) of Ooltewah; two granddaughters, Emma Eaker and Brooklyn Dagnan; and two brothers, Don Dagnan (Elaine) and Grady (Kathy) Dagnan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 20, from 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday, April 21, from 1-3 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home in Hixson. A service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
