Dorothy Mae Adams
Dorothy Mae Slocum Adams, age 88, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021.
She was born Feb. 27, 1933 to her late parents, Reverend Moses Vernon and Mabel Glenn Slocum. She was an Eastern Star and a faithful member of Mt. Peria Baptist Church. She served on the Missionary Board and enjoyed singing in the choir.
She is preceded by her husband, Deacon James A. Adams; parents; sisters, Elizabeth Banks and Nellie Mae Perryman; brothers, Thomas Slocum and Joseph Slocum; daughter, Mildred Adams; and grandson, Steven Christopher Williams.
Survivors are her loving family, son, James Adams Jr.; daughters, Gracie Adams, Glenda Johnson, Priscilla (John) Hendon, and Carolyn Adams; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Rosamond Slocum; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Following the guidelines of COVID-19, the family is enforcing that all attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.
The funeral service will be Sunday, April 25, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Peria Baptist Church, 341 Sparks St, Ringgold, GA 30736, with Pastor Edward Ellis as eulogist.
Family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
Interment will be at Ringgold Community Cemetery.
