Lela “Louise” Boles Masingale, loving mother and nana, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021, at the age of 81, surrounded by her beloved family.

Louise was born on Feb. 23, 1940 in Cleveland, Tn. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Bonnie Boles, the sister of Marvin Boles (Mary), Ernest Boles, and the late Eloise Boles McCracken. She was a graduate of Bradley High School class of 1959.

She married Wayne Masingale in 1960. They raised three beautiful children, Jeff Masingale (Deedra), Tammy Kelley (Eddie), and Tina Hickman (David). Also, a niece that she loved like a daughter, Robin Cissom (Dewayne). They were blessed with eight grandchildren, Summer Rice (Dallas), Jaimme Preston (Coker), Brandon Cissom (Malorie), Jon Hardwick (Kanissa), Meagan Gordy (Shaun), Jaycob Truelove, Emily Whaley (Cody), Ethan Hickman and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was a special friend, aunt, and honorary nana to many more. She was a homemaker for 20 plus years and retired from Advanced Photographic Solutions.

Louise was best known for her unconditional love that she offered to everyone she met. She was at her happiest when her home was full, and she was serving others. Her cooking was a comfort that could soothe the melancholiest of souls. There wasn’t a stain that she couldn’t remove or a tear that she couldn’t mend. Her door was always open, and she would always welcome you with a smile and a hug. She was only a phone call away with a listening ear. She was a wealth of wisdom and support for her family and friends. If she knew you liked something, she made sure you had it, even if it meant that she did without. She was always encouraging and believed the best in all of us. She was a safe place for so many and her random “I love you” text messages and lightning-fast Facebook posts will be immensely missed. Her unconditional love will forever be imprinted in our hearts and minds. “Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” (Proverbs 31:31) Dearest Mama, mother-in-law, Nana, aunt, sister, wife, and friend you have been a beautiful example of God’s love.

A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Friday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Bryan Mowery officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jonathan Hardwick, Jaycob Truelove, Gavin Cooper, Hagen Cooper, Cameron Hardwick, Hudson Brigham and Ethan Hickman serving as Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Cissom, Shaun Gordy, Dallas Rice, Cody Whaley and Coker Preston.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 22, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
