Margie Helen Farmer, 67, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021, in the Hospice Care Center. 

She received her associate degree in Early Childhood Development from Chattanooga State College. She was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, served on Sunday School and S.H.O.P. Committee.   

Margie was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Douglas; brothers, Robert Brown, Jr., Larry Brown, and Charles Douglas; and sister Barbara Hill. 

Survivors include her sons, Dr. Elliott Farmer, Sr. of Atlanta, GA and LaMar (Tami) Farmer of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren; brother, John Douglas, Jr. of Mississippi; sisters, Patricia “Diane” Farmer of Chattanooga, Margaret Burnett of Atlanta, Brenda Douglas of Roanoke, VA, and Lisa Douglas of Atlanta; an uncle; aunts; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

She will lie in state on Friday, May 7, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

A family service will be on Saturday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, 5455 N. Terrace, with Pastor Glenn Taylor as the eulogist. 

Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. Face coverings are required.
