New Post Begins June 1 With Responsibility For Youth Camps, Training Programs And Community Soccer Development

  • Monday, May 17, 2021

Chattanooga Football Club today announced the transition of Kris Ray from the Chattanooga FC Academy to a new role as Director of Youth Development.  In this new role Ray will be responsible for CFC Camps & Training Programs, Affiliations and Community Soccer Development.

“As our programming has grown over the past year and a half, it became evident that we needed to expand our technical staff with someone that can be focused solely on our youth initiatives.

Kris is a logical choice as he not only has a great background in the various roles and organizations he’s been a part of, but most importantly he has a passion and work ethic to provide quality training opportunities for players of all levels” said Jeremy Alumbaugh, Managing Director, Chattanooga FC. “The connections that have been built in and around Chattanooga, now will have someone fully dedicated to developing those relationships even further. I’m excited for this next step and looking forward to the difference we can help make on and off the field for young players.”

As Director of Youth Development, Ray will be responsible for oversight and direction of all CFC Camps & Programming, including expanding opportunities for players in the area.  This will allow for a heightened focus on developing players at all levels of soccer in the area, while helping players to have a passion for the game that will last long after their playing days are over.

“I first would like to thank the entire Chattanooga FC organization and specifically the executive team for this opportunity to serve in this new leadership role.  This is an exciting time for soccer in Southeast Tennessee and I look forward to working at all levels within the youth system with the dedicated players we have in this area” said Ray.  “I have no doubt that with the help of Chattanooga FC and the leadership within the club, that we can create something here that everyone will be proud of and want to take part in.”

Ray most recently served as the Technical & Events Director for the Chattanooga FC Academy.  In addition to his role off the field, he coached the 2008 Boys Team, helping guide them from a bottom place in the fall season to a top 3 finish this spring in the State League.  Next the team will participate in the State Cup Tournament here at the end of the month.

The new role will begin June 1st and registration is now open for all summer camps and programming.
