Wilma Calloway
Wilma R. Calloway, 81, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021, in Chattanooga.
She was born on Feb. 29, 1940, to Mr. Jimmy Robbins and Maggie Robinson.
Wilma was a native of Collinsville, Al., where she graduated from Gregory High School, Class of 1959. She furthered her studies at Draughons Junior College, graduating with a degree in nursing.
She was a former employee of Erlanger Hospital and taught kindergarten at the Joseph E. Smith Elementary School in the 1980s. She retired after 45 years of service with Dr. Silliman’s office.
Wilma was a talented seamstress who made her own wedding dress and those of her bridesmaids.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church on Park Avenue.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, husband, Ronald Calloway; daughter, Bonitta Thompson (Ricky Beamon); son, Paul Thompson; sister, Sandra Dugue; two grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; five nieces; five nephews; a host of relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2021, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
