Shawn Anthony “Tony” York, 62, of Flintstone, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021, at his residence.
Tony was a native of Panama City, Fl., and had lived the past 35 years in Flintstone, Ga. He served in the United States Navy. Tony had worked for the railroad in Chattanooga, was a manager at Radio Shack in Fort Oglethorpe, and had also worked in many different roles at Walmart in Fort Oglethorpe. Tony had a poet’s heart and he wrote beautiful poetry. He loved reading and going out to eat.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonidas George York, Sr.; mother and step-father, Eleanor Rogers York Hinrichs and John Hinrichs; and sister, Robin Wynell York White.
Survivors include his special friend, Gary Floyd of Flintstone; siblings, JoEllen York Gandy (Kenyon) Leonidas George York, Jr. “L.G.” (Jessie McTaggar), Donald Earl York (Ira), all of Panama City, FL, William Adam York of Lake City, FL, Lisa York Corbin (Tim), of Chipley, Fl., and John Hinrichs (Marlow) of Lake City, Fl.; brother-in-law, Allen White; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
