Martha Lee Nicholson passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

She graduated from Johnstown High School in Johnstown, Pa. She earned her Bachelors degree at Avila University, Kansas City MO. She earned her Masters degree at Fort Hays State University, Hays Kansas. Martha taught in elementary education for 25 years.

She served alongside her husband in pastoring seven churches throughout Pennsylvania, Missouri and Kansas. Martha had a great love of music, she played the piano and directed choirs during their ministry. She wrote Bible Lessons for adults and children. She also had a love of reading and arranging flowers. Martha had become a member of the Church of God International at a young age and then became a member of the Assemblies of God for 38 years following her husband’s pastorate. Currently she was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God where she was an active member of the Unity Sunday School Class and Peacemakers Class from 2015 to now. 

She was preceded in death by parents, Alva and Mary Miller Lynch; and her husband of 61 years, Edward Eugene Nicholson.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy Nicholson (Connie), Todd Nicholson (Stephanie); her daughter, Renee’ Brown (Eddie); her grandchildren, Amie Nicholson, Kyle Cox, David Nicholson (Shawnacy), Hailey Nicholson, Bailey Nicholson, Melia Nicholson, Ryan Richardson (Heather), Rhonda Graham (Keith), Cassie Brown, Benjamin Nicholson (Brianna), Tessalyn Nicholson, and Kate Nicholson; and her great-grandchildren, Nicholas Staggs, Robert Tucker, Kyla Richardson, Conner Richardson, Kelsie Richardson, Jude Graham, Scott Graham and Roman Graham.

A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel with Pastor Mark Williams officiating. The interment will follow at Lee Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 15, from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
