Horace Newman
Horace Lee Newman, 60, of Cleveland, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
Born on July 21, 1960, in Dade County, Fl., he was the son of the late James and Martha Newman.
He was a devoted father and loving husband. Horace worked as a truck driver at Hickory Springs for many years. He loved to go fishing and riding up to the mountains. He never met a stranger and was always very friendly to everyone he encountered. Horace also loved attending the Baptist church and activities. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Audre Bryant, Tony Newman and Maryann Johnson; brother, James Newman; and grandchild, Layla-Marie Haynes.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Newman; daughters, Deborah (Paul Haynes) Newman and Bunnye (Rundee) Kirby; stepdaughter, Michelle Ramsey; brother, Tim Newman; grandchildren, Anamrie, Symone and Arikah Ngare and Lexi Haynes; step grandchildren, Amber Travis, Brandon Loach and Terry and Daniel Ramsey; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Ronald Ledford officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Terry Ramsey, Paul Haynes, Joseph Newman, Jeff Davis, Jeremy Travis, Daniel Ramsey and Michael Miller serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 5–7 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.
