Eddie Tallent
James Edward “Eddie” Tallent, Jr., 56, of Apison, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 6, 2021, after a 14-month battle of Pancreatic Cancer. He was at home and was surrounded by his loving family as he took his last breath.
He was a lifelong resident of the East Brainerd/Apison area and a truck driver for McKee Foods for over 30 years. Eddie was loved by everyone he met and never met a stranger. He was passionate about helping others and never expected anything in return. He loved riding his Harley with friends and he enjoyed racing dirt bikes and helping at the CXC and SORCS races.
Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Chandra Tallent of Apison; children, Courtney (Ryan) Burdett of East Brainerd and Trey (Keri) Tallent of Ringgold; grandchildren, Presley Wysong, Cash Burdett and Crue Burdett all of East Brainerd; parents, James and Lois Tallent of Ooltewah; father and mother-in-law, James (Barbara) Boone of Apison; sisters, Diane (Greg) Bates of Ooltewah, Gail Tallent of East Brainerd and Tammy (Jody) Wood of Apison; brother-in-law, Jim (Diane) Boone of Pikeville; nephews, Mark Bates of Harrison, Casey (Brooke) McKenzie of Dietrich, IL, Logan Wood of Apison, James Boone of Murfreesboro, Andrew (Kandis) Boone of Canton, GA and Aaron Boone of Loretto, TN; nieces, Danya Bellomy of Ooltewah and Ashley (Sean) McQueen of Dietrich, IL and everal great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Mike James officiating. His final resting place will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens South, with Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating.
