George Perkins, Sr.
George Perkins, Sr., age 79, of Dalton, Georgia, went to his heavenly home Sunday, June 6, 2021 at CHI Memorial.
He was preceded in death by parents, Grady, Sr. and Daisy Wofford Perkins; sisters, Helen Perkins and Bobbie Jean West; brothers, Charles Wesley, Marvin Grady, Jr. and Alfred Lamar Perkins; brother-in-law, Randy Allen; and sisters-in-law, Ann Perkins and Violet Perkins.
George was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, former Sunday School director and currently serving as an Assistant Connect Group director. He sang with the Grove Level Pioneers. He loved his family and watching the Braves and Georgia Tech. He coached several baseball teams in his community throughout the years.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Perkins of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and William Penson of Chatsworth; son and daughter-in-law, Ernie and Angela Perkins of Kennesaw; one sister, Doris Allen of Lyerly, Georgia; brother-in-law, Paul West II of Acworth; sister-in-law, Barbara Perkins of Trion; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Margaret Pierce and sister-in-law, Danette Mullinax; six grandchildren, Brent Miller, Holly Planer, George Ernest Perkins, III “Trey”, Clayton Penson, Megan Moss and Kristen Casey; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 10, at 4 pm. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, June 9, from 5-8:30 pm.

Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
