Charles Dills
Charles William “Billy” Dills, age 80, of Ringgold, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday July 22, 2021.
He was born in Nantahala, North Carolina to the late Floyd Jackson Dills and Alice Pauline Roper Dills. He was a 1957 graduate of Nantahala High School. Most of his life was spent as a truck driver and working in various mills. He was a hard worker and was willing to help anyone who needed it. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Patricia R. Strickland Dills; his brother, Ronald Dills of Dalton Ga.; and sister-in-law, Rebecca Dills of Cohutta Ga.
He is survived by his five children, Kerry Dills and his wife Gwen of Mineral Bluff, Ga., Lavonne Gittle and her husband Bob of Conway, S.C., Jeff Dills and his wife Rhonda of Flintstone, Ga., Jeanne Hall and her husband Mark of Ringgold, Ga., and Amanda Dills and Lee Crabtree of Flintstone, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation and the memorial service will be July 31 at Peavine Baptist Church, 100 Spring Street, Rossville, GA 30741 from 12-3 p.m. Interment will be held at a later time.
