Marcia Schock Dawn
Marcia Schock Dawn, 61, of East Ridge, passed away on September 18, 2021.
The youngest of three children, she loved her brothers but could be headstrong in her own right. She always thought about the feelings of others and always was trying to make others laugh. She did all kinds of bird whistles and other strange noises to make others laugh. Her patients could not figure out if she was entertaining them or just silly crazy. She took to heart her patients and coworkers and family members, always trying to spread joy wherever she went.
She fought a long five-year battle with breast cancer and went to work to take care of her patients even when she could hardly stand.
She went to Chattanooga Valley Elementary and High School, graduating in 1978. She went on to graduate nursing school with an LPN degree in 1984. She worked at Elmcroft of Chattanooga for many years and taught CNA’s for a few years. She was the most caring person about others and animals. She always was thinking about the other people in her life before herself.
She was preceded in death by her father, John C. Schock, her mother, Clara Voiles Schock, brother, Darrell Schock and several pet “babies”, paternal grandmother, Virginia Schock and maternal grandmother, Willie Voiles.
She is survived by her brother, Wayne Schock, uncle and aunt, Edgar and Joyce Schock, former spouse, Ronald Christian Dawn, “little brother” Shannon Castleberry, best friend for life, Sherrie Richards and a number of cousins and many special friends.
A Celebration of Marcia’s Life will be held at a future date to be announced later.
