Vaccine Necessity

People choosing not to be vaccinated as a matter of personal choice are often slammed. One writer to this forum said grownups should make the decisions about vaccinations as they dealt with polio, mumps and measles. He failed to say progressives didn’t inject politics into the response to those diseases like they do often do now.

I never, however, read posts by those same progressive folks about concerns over millions of illegals pouring across our southern border. Do they care millions may be unvaccinated not only for COVID, but measles, mumps, polio and numerous other diseases? Joe Biden, the progressive president, doesn’t seem concerned.

Progressives take the position that it’s my body, my personal choice, when arguing for abortions.
When someone takes the position that it’s my body, my personal choice when arguing in favor of not being vaccinated, suddenly progressives don’t support personal choice on that issue.

Instead we are told they could cause the death of others by their selfishness and reckless behavior, but then don’t those who oppose abortions say it causes the death of others through reckless behavior and selfishness?

I’m not taking a position for or against vaccinations in this post. I’ve been vaccinated. I even got a Tootsie-pop from the fine folks administering my second dose. I am thankful for those wonderful medical professionals and our Hamilton County Health Department for their diligence and bravery in dealing with this awful virus.

My intention in this post was to question the irony of progressivism. It’s a far more sinister and dangerous virus which can eat away at the liberties we have enjoyed in this nation since it’s founding. The vaccine for that virus is an uncorrupted election. Remember that next year and vote against progressivism.
