Rodney Duane Curtis, 56, of Dayton, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021, at his home in Dayton, TN.
He was born in Jasper, TN, on May 23, 1965. Rodney was also preceded in death by his father, Shirley Ray Curtis.
Rodney lived in Dayton for the past 25 years. He served his country with the US Navy. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Bryan College in 2004, was a Homeland Security Special Investigator, and worked at La-Z-Boy, Walmart, and Kenny’s Bar. He liked hanging out with his friends, drinking, and cooking.
He is survived by his mother, Emma Lee (Dixon) Gerard; his brother, Michael Curtis, his sister, Renee Bigger, all of Clio, MI; his sister Regina (Sam) Muma of Flushing, MI; several nephews and nieces; and numerous friends.
Funeral services for Rodney with US Navy military honors will be held on Monday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. with Rev. Debra Keener officiating. He will be laid to rest at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
