UTC Soccer Hosts SoCon Matchups With UNCG, VMI

The Chattanooga women’s soccer team opens Southern Conference action this weekend with a Friday matchup against UNCG followed by a Sunday meeting with VMI. Both matches are at the UTC Sports Complex.

The Mocs closed out non-conference play with a double-overtime scoreless draw against Morehead State to go 3-5-1 in non-league action. Samantha Shaw has a team-leading nine points that includes four goals. Three others scored in the Mocs’ win against North Alabama.

UTC finished the 2020 season, played in the spring of 2021, with a 7-3-1 overall record and 6-2-1 in SoCon play, placing third overall.
It was UTC’s best finish in program history.

The Mocs and Spartans have met 27 times with UNCG leading the series 21-3-3. At home, the Mocs trail the Spartans 2-8-1 including a 2-1 loss in 2019, the first season at the UTC Sports Complex.
