Lee Men Win Fifth Straight With 3-0 Win Over Delta State

 The Lee University men's soccer team ran its win streak to five games with a 3-0 Gulf South Conference win at Delta State University. The Flames improved their record to 6-1 and are 4-0 in conference play.

The Flames were outshot 9-6 by the Statesmen (3-4-1, 1-3 GSC). Lee put four shots on goal and converted three, while none of Delta State's attempts were on target. The Flames were awarded three corner kicks to one for the hosts. Lee was whistled for 15 fouls to 11 for DSU, and were guilty of the game's lone offside call.

Fabian Navarro opened the scoring just 10:31 into the match with his second goal of the season.
Fabrizio Scimo was credited with the assist.

Eemeli Makela posted his second goal of the season in the 66th minute and Caio Arantes added his third of the season in the 73rd minute to add another insurance goal. Both second-half goals were unassisted.

Sam Keener and Roel Martinez combined to record the Flames' second consecutive shutout and third of the season. Keener earned the win to move to 6-1 between the pipes. Martinez played the final 5:29.

The Flames return home on October 2 to face Auburn University at Montgomery in another GSC contest. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
