Jailen Wofford
Jailen Donyelle Moore Wofford, 21, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021.
He was a star athlete in basketball and football at Brainerd High School and graduated in 2018.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Moore; grandmother, Pearline Allen; uncle, Charles LoVell Moore; grandmothers, Ophelia Jones (Jesse Jones) and Dorothy Shropshire “Granny Dot”; aunts, Sylvia Pointer and Tarra Jones.
Survivors include his mother, LaChara Moore; father, Mike Wofford; children, Amir Sincere and Kailen Evans; grandmother, Berlinda Jones; aunts, Sandra Wofford and LaRonda Shropshire; uncle, Gary Shropshire; sisters, Janiya Welch, Jordan Moore, Nevaeh Watson, and MiAngel Walker; brothers, Jaylen McCallie and De’Quarious Morris; first and only nephew, Miles Donyelle; aunt, Sandra Wofford; great-aunts, Sophia Jones and Tanza Freeman; great-uncles, Angeles Kelly; cousins, Natasha Jones (Nakenzie) Mark Hayes II, (Mark III, Markenzie, Skylar, Payton) Marquesha Hayes (Markiyiah, Riley, Je’Miyiah) Nikia Jones-Poole (Anthony) (Takia, Antwaun); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and special cousins, Mark Hayes II, and Darrios Wofford.
Jailen will lie in state on Thursday, Sept. 30, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Friday, Oct. 1, at noon in the chapel. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
