King, John A. (Trenton)

John A. King, 75, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at his home in Trenton. He was born in Seattle, Wa., the son of Daniel and Dolores (Bleckwenn) King.

John graduated from Rutland High School in Vermont, class of 1965. Following graduation, he served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy MBC3. After serving his country, John was employed in the trucking industry as an owner/operator for 50 years.

John married Betty Peterson in 1967. They had three sons. In 1984, John and Patricia (Garnett) Hulsey were married and together they raised five teenagers.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his sons, John and Brandon, and his brothers, Mark and David.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia King; his sons, Jason King and Jeffrey Hulsey and wife, Dusty; daughters, Jennifer (Hulsey) Grijalva and husband, Robert and Jill Faith (Hulsey) Belt and husband, Marcus; sister, Alicia (King) Smith and husband, Tom; and brother Dean King and wife, Colleen (Greene).

He was “Poppy” to 12 grandchildren and their spouses and 16 great-grandchildren. He was “Uncle John” to numerous nieces, nephews and family friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. at Trenton Community Center, Price Street in Trenton.

Those who wish to remember John in a special way may make donations in his memory to your favorite charity or his; The Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
