George Dewayne Caldwell, age 70, of Congress Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday morning, January 17, 2022, following an extended illness.
He was born in Chattooga County, Ga. to the late Charlie Martin and Irene Mae Ellison Caldwell on Oct. 26, 1951.
Mr. Caldwell was a retired auto mechanic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Carpenter Caldwell; sisters, Pamela Jean Caldwell and Barbara Caldwell; and brother, Charles Leroy Caldwell.
Surviving are his sisters, Rachael Kilgore, Linda Jones, and Doris Tapp; brothers, Jerry Caldwell and Ray Marvin Caldwell, all of Summerville; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 1:30 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Brother Ray Caldwell officiating, with interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kevin Phillips, Jacob Caldwell, Brision Phillips, Ray Ray Caldwell, Jeffery Caldwell, and Conner Elrod. Honorary pallbearers are Hearth Hospice (Teresa Duncan and Carrie Pritchett), Charles Caldwell, Jr. (J.J.), Doyle Ash, Bryson Pollock, Talaylah Price, and Eathan Caldwell.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
