Betty Jean Davis Parker, age 81, of The Westside Community, passed away at Hamilton Medical Center into the arms of Jesus and loved ones waiting on January 22, 2022.
She was born Aug. 20, 1940 in Dalton, Ga. She was preceded in death by her first husband of over 40 years and the father of her children, G.W. Davis Jr.; son, William Sonny Davis; her infants, Danny and Kathy Davis; parents, Jake and Willie Mae Rolen; stepmother, Arvalene Christopher Rolen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gaston and Dovie Davis; and many other loved ones.
Betty was a homemaker whom loved her family and their families and also many others who called her mom, friend and neighbor over the years.
Betty is survived by her husband, Fred Parker of the residence; her children, Dora and Steve Flint of Varnell, GA, Nancy and Kindle Williams of Chatsworth, GA, Robert and Buffie Davis, Krista and Sidney Keith of Rocky Face, GA; daughter-in-law, Tammy Davis of Lafayette, GA; a grandson whom she raised like a son, Don Carlton Tate III of the residence and Courtney; Rebecca Williams of Michigan; grandchildren, Karen Pack, Jodie Pack of Varnell, GA, Gene and Lauri Pack of Rome, GA, Jason and Dawn Pack of Texas, Amber Shipley of Ooltewah, TN, Jasmine Williams of Chatsworth, GA, Jairo and Haley Lara, Perry and Beth Williams, Tabatha Williams of Dalton, GA, Jennifer Cameron, Scott Huff Jr., Brooke Davis of Lafayette, GA, Rose and Nathan Brewer of Chatsworth, GA, Jeffery and Brittney Tate of Rocky Face, GA, Alaina Tate of Chatsworth, GA, Carson Tate, Lily Tate, Dexter Keith, Danielle Keith of Rocky Face, GA; brothers, Allen Rolen of Tunnel hill, GA, James Rolen Jr. of Dalton, GA; sisters, Bonnie Rittenhouse of Dalton, GA, Shirley and Will Smith of Rossville, GA; many great grandchildren that she loved more than anything, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She wanted all her family to know she loved them all even the ones she could not make it to visit them.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m. from the Fairview Baptist Church with Reverend Phillip Burns and Reverend Herman Ledbetter officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Thursday.
