Junior Luther ‘J L’ Coe
Junior Luther ‘J L’ Coe, 91, a lifelong resident of Bradley County, passed away Friday morning, January 21, 2022, in a local hospital.
He was the son of the late Herbert Coe and Anna Lee Coe. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Hazel Coe, and his sister, Flora Higgins.
J L, as he was known, was a very well-known local used car dealer and had been since 1960. As a self-employed car dealer was still working at the time of his death with J & H Used Cars. Before he began his work as a car salesman he worked for Brown Stove Company. He was a member of Old Fashion Church of God Outreach Ministry.
He is survived by one daughter, Laquita Carroll and her husband, Mike of Cleveland; one granddaughter who was the pride and joy of his life, Hannah Carroll; one brother, Billy Coe and his wife Patsy of Cleveland; two sisters, Dean Jackson of Chattanooga, Peggy Holder of Cleveland. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, North Ocoee Chapel, Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Dee Snyder, Bebo Harris, Jeff Shadden, Jeff Stansberry. Tommy Keener and Eion Keener serving as pallbearers.a white dove release to conclude the ceremony.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes and Cremation Services who is in charge of the arrangements.
