Sabra Slater Debity, 41, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, in Cleveland.
Sabra was born in Cleveland and was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Virgie and Leslie White, paternal grandparents, John C. Slater Sr. and Hazel Marie Slater and her aunt, Sallie Warner.
She was a graduate of Cleveland Christian School where she was the Valedictorian. She also played softball, track and basketball. Sabra served as a caregiver and was an excellent piano player. She could also have taught piano. Sabra loved spending time with her children and she was a Christian.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Debity, Coker Creek, Tennessee, daughter, Hailey Debity, Cleveland, her sons, Isaiah "Kit" Carson, Jayden Debity both of Cleveland, Mother, Sonja W. Slater, father, Chuck Slater Jr. "Melba" all of Cleveland, brother, Johnathan Aaron Slater (Katelyn), Cleveland, niece, Kiley Anne Marie Slater, nephew, Braydenn Aaron Lee Slater, step daughter, Chloe Debity, stepson, Blake Debity both of Cleveland and aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 3 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Dr. Oliver McMahan officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery in McDonald with family and friends serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
