Elizabeth Anne McCracken, 85, of Sussex, NJ and a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 20, 2022. She was a retired banking professional. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar W Bennett and Anna Jane Danadio Pellet; and husband, Ray McCracken.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Greg Gibson; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and April McCracken; daughter, Susan King; and son David McCracken, all of Cleveland; one sister, Susan Longcore, of Sussex, NJ; one brother, Bruce Bennett, of Philadelphia, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Hall and husband, Josh, Sara Gibson and husband, Jason, Ashley McAllister, Kaila McCracken, Ian McCracken, Alexandria McCracken, John McCracken, Joshua King and Megan King; six great-grandchildren, Ava Delongos, Nora Hall, Ezra Hall, Raylia McCracken, Ollie McCracken and Braxtin McCracken; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was a wonderful person with a pure heart. She lived true to her faith, always attended church throughout her life, often played the church piano and enjoyed singing hymns. She possessed enormous love for her family and was the centerpiece that held them together. She loved family gatherings for the holidays and celebrating birthdays for her children and grandchildren. And while these celebrations will never be the same without her, they will always cherish the memories of her love and laughter. She also enjoyed making quilts for her children and grandchildren, which is just another expression of her love for her family. She is dearly missed and will always be loved by her familyf and remembered fondly by her friends and acquaintances.
A Celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 4452 Bates Pike SE in Cleveland, with the Rev. Johnny Powell officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service time from 1-3 p.m.
