Following a long battle with numerous health problems, Belvia Louise Coates, 89, of Wildwood, passed peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2022 in the arms of her devoted daughter, Belvia Coates Pruitt, and beloved granddaughter, Carrie Belvia Pruitt Walls. She was born on July 18, 1933.
Belvia Louise Coates is predeceased by her husband of 26 years, Charles T. Coates, Sr.; two adored grandsons, very loving parents, eight brothers, two sisters and many forever friends. Louise’s heart was indeed broken with the loss of her oldest and dearest sister, Gertrude Daniels Oliver.
With heartfelt sadness, she leaves behind her endeared home place, one daughter, two sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren & their families, along with very special nieces & nephews, several caring great nieces, many Dade County friends and special neighbors.
However, everyone knew Louise’s number one goal for the past 50 years was looking forward to the day that she could unite with her true love, Charles T. Coates, Sr., as they both play their guitars and sing to one another, “You Are My Sunshine” and share the milk chocolate Hershey Bar he joyfully hands her in their forever Paradise Valley.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with longtime friend, Jason Blake, and her adored son-in-law, Walker H. Pruitt, officiating. Burial will follow in Hooker Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jackie Daniels, Rowland Durham, Tommy Hunt, Brent Walton Pruitt, Charles Lee Pruitt, Carlton Stallings, Nicholas Walls and Jeff Wood.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 9-11 a.m. on Friday at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton.
