Douglas “Denver” McAlister, 79, of Cleveland, Tennessee went to his heavenly home, Monday, December 5, 2022 while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 27, 1943, to the late Clifford and Clara McAlister of Charleston, Tn. Denver was the grandson of Jim and Francis Wright and George “Mac” and Emma McAlister. Denver retired from Olin Chemicals in Charleston, Tennessee after 25 years of service. He enjoyed collecting and trading guns, hunting, woodworking, and “treasure hunting” at estate sales with his loving wife Mary McAlister. He and Mary enjoyed many motorcycle adventures with family and friends throughout the years. Denver was a member of Council Baptist Church in Charleston, Tennessee. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 48 wonderful years, Mary Cameron- McAlister; Children,  David (Rhonda) McAlister, Richard (Pam) McAlister, George McAlister, Mark (Donna) Cameron, Kathy Cameron Coker, David (Opal) Cameron; Grandchildren, Chad (Jana) Cameron, Tiffany (Dustin) McAlister-Sims, Daniel (Ashley) McAlister, Denver (Hannah) Coker, Hannah Coker, Montana Cameron, Colton Cameron, Rachel McAlister, Alyssa McAlister, Andrew McAlister, Grace McAlister, Jordyn McAlister; Great-Grandchildren, Kynslei Sims, Kyra Sims, Lance Sims, Lyla Sims, Duke Sims, Dylauni Sims, Kalynn Cameron, Anastyn Cameron, Lucy McAlister, June McAlister, Mason McAlister, and Steele McAlister; Nieces and Nephews, Keith McAlister, Kim McAlister-Covington (Charlie), Ephram McAlister, Eric McAlister, Chas Covington (Leanna); Surviving Cousins, Margie McAlister, John Moore, Dean (Bertha) McAlister, Glenn (Wylene) McAlister. Denver will be remembered by numerous relatives and friends.

The family will receive and friends from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home, 2415 N. Ocoee St., Cleveland, Tn. 37311. 

Immediately following visitation, a Celebration of Life service will begin at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will occur at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, in the Council Baptist Church Cemetery, Charleston, Tn. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, Chad Cameron, Daniel McAlister, Andrew McAlister, Dustin Sims, Lance Sims, Colton Cameron, Montana Cameron.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Douglas “Denver” McAlister, may be made to the Council Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1415 Upper River Rd. NE, Charleston, TN 37310 (www.councilbaptist.org)
