Edward “Neal” Bettis, 94, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.

He was retired from TVA after 30 years of service. Neal was a longtime resident of Harrison and was a well-known member of the community. He was also a member of Harrison Bassmasters for many years, where he served as an officer.

Neal was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Smith Bettis; son, Gary Neal Bettis; parents, James and Effie Bettis, and brother, Clyde W. Bettis.

He is survived by his sons, Danny Bettis (Debbie) and Mark Bettis (Soontaree).

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 11, from 3–7 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, Dec. 12, at 1 p.m. with Heman McDade officiating.

Neal will be laid to rest in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to give special thanks to Debra Scott and her family for being such special friends and also to Avalon Hospice for their exceptional care.
