It was a tale of two games on Saturday afternoon at Butler Field. The Lee softball Lady Flames rolled to a 7-0 shutout victory over Alabama Huntsville in game one before the Charger offense caught fire from the start in game two on their way to an 11-2 win in game two.
The Lady Flames are now 14-13 on the year and 8-8 in the GSC. UAH moves to 17-10 and 7-7 in conference play.
The two teams will play the rubber match of the three-game Gulf South Conference Series on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.

Nyah Vogel continued her stellar play in the circle as she tossed a complete game, six-hit shutout in Saturday's opener. Vogel moved to 9-5 as she struck out five and did not walk a batter. The sophomore has given up just one run over her last 20 innings of work.
The Lady Flames got their bats going with a three-run second inning. Shelby Cole hit a sacrifice fly before Bre Patton delivered a two run double as she ripped a ball over the centerfielder's head.
Alexa Scalzo made it 5-0 with a two-run single in the fourth. Taylor De Adder drove in the final two runs. She ripped her fifth home run of the season in the fifth and singled home a run in seventh.
Layton Murphy (5-6) was tagged with the loss as she started for the Chargers and gave up five runs on six hits over three-plus innings. Maddie Tankersley tossed three innings in relief and was charged with two runs on four hits.
"Nyah is a very talented pitcher. We mixed some stuff up at Delta and did some different things with pitch calling and I think that has helped and warmer weather has helped as well. She leads our staff and does a great job for us," said Lee head coach Emily Russell. "In game two of doubleheaders we've struggled. We haven't had the same energy and focus in those games. But we are a young team and we are learning as we go. The thing I like about this team though is we are learning a lot, even in tough losses like we had in game two. We'll be ready to go tomorrow."
GAME 2 – LEE 2 UAH 11
The Chargers scored early and often in handing the Lady Flames an 11-2 five-inning defeat in Saturday's nightcap.
The UAH offense busted out 15 hits with 11 of those hits coming from the first three players in the lineup. Kaylee Vaught tripled, homered, and singled, Shelby Booker went 3 for 4 and scored twice. Kiara Akles hit a pair of two-run homers and finished with three hits and five RBI.
Javaria Smith went 3 for 3 for the Lady Flames while Ana Macha added two hits. Taylor De Adder drove in her third run of the day with a single in the fifth.
Madison Barnett (4-8) started and made it two innings, giving up six hits and four runs. Alaina Watson and Caroline Pattison combined for three innings pitched in relief, giving up seven runs on nine hits.
