Covenant Golfers Finish 8th At USA South Tournament

The Covenant golf team wrapped up its season with an eighth-place finish at the USA South Tournament, which concluded on Wednesday at the Carolina Country Club.

The Scots posted a 321 in Wednesday's final round to end the tournament with a 965 (317-327-321) and an eighth-place finish overall. Nationally-ranked No. 1 Methodist ran away with the tournament title, which featured five teams in the top-40 nationally, with a 54-hole score of 25-under 839 (280-278-281).

Will DeMersseman was the top Scot in the tournament as he placed in a tie for 22nd overall with a 230 (73-81-76) after a 76 in the final round.
The senior posted two birdies in his final round as he finished with a career-best score for a 54-hole tournament.

DeMersseman concludes his collegiate career with the third-best scoring average in program history at 78.50 in 58 total rounds.

Kenny Duffin also carded a 76 on Wednesday, which included three birdies, as he finished 32nd in the tournament with a three-day total of 238 (80-82-76). Isaac Duncan was 40th with a 249 (83-80-86), while Bo Luff was 42nd with a 254 (81-84-89). Crawford Collett finished up the tournament with an 83 on Wednesday to post a 54-hole total of 257 (90-84-83).

Methodist' Cameron Cappuzzo won medalist honors as he carded a 9-under 207 (70-69-68) in the tournament.
